ERINN HAYHOW
Eirinn Hayhow’s brand philosophy is to “See the beauty in everything, find the light in the darkness” – To create unique, high vibe garments, salvaged from unwanted materials.
THE TEXTILES
Sustainability is an integral part of Hayhow’s creative process. Each garment in her latest collection, Magic Mushrooms, is based on a type of mushroom. She is inspired by their colours, textures, shapes, as well as their wellbeing properties for humans as well as the ecosystem.
THE MAKING
Hayhow creates her own natural dyes – from foraging plants and berries, and reusing fruit and vegetable waste. Everything is made from salvaged cotton and sustainable fibers that has a positive impact on our ecosystem. For example, the Pineapple Long Leather Jacket, Pineapple Leather Corset and Pineapple Leather Dress displayed in the window are designed with vegan leather made from pineapple fibers. A percentage of her sales go towards the Pilgrims Hospice end of life charity.
ABOUT
‘See the beauty in everything, find the light in the darkness’ is EIRINN HAYHOW brand philosophy, as she creates unique, high vibe garments, salvaged from unwanted materials. Sustainability has always been at the heart of her creativity. A self-taught designer, her love of fashion came from a young age. ‘Putting my legs through the bottom of carrier bags from our weekly shopping trips, pulling up the handles like straps, I had made my first pair of dungarees. ‘ This playfulness is still present in her garments today. She creates her own dyes from foraging plants and berries and using fruit and vegetable waste. Everything is made from salvaged and sustainable materials that have a positive impact on our ecosystem. She continues to research innovative ways to produce materials from natural resources. As recommended by Vogue as one of the best Vegan Brands 2021, EIRINN HAYHOW has been supported by London Fashion Week, The British Fashion Council and recognised by the Guardian.
