Our monthly knitting club YKWU (You knit With Us) launched its summer series at The Lab E20 in partnership with Fashion District and Get Living. Between May and July 2022 YKWU invited designers, students and the local community to engage in the production of fashion through the medium of knitting. Inviting beginners and experts to mix and learn from each other. Each session was facilitated by a knitwear designer or specialist and took place at London’s Creative Hub, The LabE20 under the Christopher Raeburn parachutes.
The summer session invited textile designer Oie Slate who took us through an over-the-chest phone pouch. Evvia Gonzales founder of Loupy Studio took us through making sleeves and Hannah Porter Restoration LDN went through creating a basic square pattern and joining two colour yarns.
